D’Appolonia was engaged by the Sohar Industrial Port Company to assess the state of health of a berth in the Port of Sohar (Oman), affected by crack formations. D’Appolonia provided a Smart Monitoring (SM) system
that monitors quay wall and crane rail beam movement and crack width.
The permanent wireless monitoring system, consisting of seven independent continuous monitoring stations positioned along the berth, does not limit or obstruct the normal site operations and provides the operator with real-time information on the structure’s health. As part of the system, D’Appolonia developed a customized SW platform and related graphical user interface that can store weekly files for statistical analysis, further review of the data and their offline processing.
The successful installation of the SM system in the Port of Sohar is only one of many examples of our worldwide experience in providing customized SM systems. Please contact us for more information.
